I own a 2015 CX-5 with a little over 49K miles. A loud wining noise recently started happening at speeds over 10 mph and got louder as the the speed of the car increased (not RPM). Took my car to Mazda for service and they said it's a known problem (TSB #05-002/19). The fix is to replace my transmission. The cost, including parts and labor is $5,300. This is out of my financial reach. On top of that, they charged me $180 to diagnose the problem.
I spoke to Mazda Customer Service repeatedly and they refuse to help. I'm currently without a car for the foreseeable future since the car is not drivable. Even worse, the part is not available anywhere in North America and there's no ETA for it's arrival. It may take months to fix my car. I can't afford a rental car. This is an extremely large hardship for me.
My primary reason for purchasing this Mazda was the quality that the company publicizes. Certainly you want to believe that Mazda will stand behind their product. Especially when it's a known defect.
